Best Outdoor Electric Fire Pit: Compare 6 Outdoor Options
A strong outdoor electric fire feature should match your space and whether you want warmth, flame effects, or both. Decksplore’s freestanding tabletop heater is the closest fit here for buyers seeking a compact outdoor electric fire-pit-style unit: it is listed for patios, decks, balconies, and gardens and includes overheat protection. For a built-in visual focal point, the weatherproof SimpliFire Forum offers four flame colors and 13 ember-bed colors, but it does not provide heat.
The other four options are Bella Vita pits with LP or natural-gas labels, not clearly electric models. This comparison separates those formats so you can judge the trade-offs and avoid treating a gas-fuel listing as an electric fire pit.
Decksplore Freestanding Heater leads for shoppers who want a compact outdoor electric fire-pit-style option with warmth: its listing says it works on patios, decks, balconies, and gardens, and includes overheat protection. It measures 13.98 by 8.11 by 18.9 inches and can sit on a tabletop. If you want weatherproof flame effects rather than heat, consider SimpliFire Forum Outdoor Fireplace instead.
The Bella Vita models are labeled LP or NG, so they are not direct electric alternatives.

- Dimensions: 13.98"D x 8.11"W x 18.9"H
- Dimensions D x W x H: 13.98"D x 8.11"W x 18.9"H
- Weight: 6.6 lb
Best for: Compact Tabletop Outdoor Heat.
Why it ranks #1: Its electric heater listing specifically names patios, decks, balconies, and gardens, adds overheat protection, and measures just 13.98 by 8.11 by 18.9 inches.
A freestanding, 18.9-inch-tall electric heater brings a compact heat source to patios, decks, balconies, and gardens. Its tabletop-friendly dimensions make it suitable for smaller outdoor seating setups, while the included remote control lets users operate it without reaching for the unit.
The iron construction and protective coating support outdoor placement, and the sturdy base provides stability during use. At 13.98 inches deep, 8.11 inches wide, and 18.9 inches high, it fits a tabletop-scale setting rather than claiming the footprint of a full-size fire pit. The remote control supports operation from nearby seating, while overheat protection automatically powers the unit down if temperatures exceed normal range.

- Iron construction with protective coating
- Remote control included
- Overheat protection automatically powers down the unit
- Its 13.98-by-8.11-inch footprint and 18.9-inch height suit tabletop-scale use, not a large fire-pit setting.

This Decksplore suits buyers seeking a compact electric heat source for an outdoor tabletop or seating area, with remote operation and overheat protection. Its listed dimensions favor small-scale placement rather than a broad, built-in fireplace presentation.

Best for: Weatherproof Ambiance Fireplace.
Why it ranks #2: This weatherproof outdoor electric fireplace offers four flame colors, 13 ember-bed colors, a remote, and decorative media, though it provides no heat.
A weatherproof design makes the 43-inch SimpliFire Forum suitable for outdoor installation, while four flame options and 13 ember-bed colors let buyers tailor its appearance. This model provides flame effects without heat, so it suits patios where ambiance matters more than added warmth.
The included overlap front allows either a framed appearance or a clean finish with materials flush to the edge, giving installers two presentation options. Crystal stones, black glass, and driftwood logs come standard, so the ember area can be styled with supplied media. A remote control operates the flame and color choices, and the GFCI power cord is included. Its no-heat specification means it adds visual effect, not supplemental warmth.

- Four flame options and 13 ember-bed colors
- Includes crystals, black glass, and driftwood logs
- Remote control and GFCI power cord included
- It produces no heat, so it cannot warm outdoor seating.

3. Firepit Art Bella Vita 58 LP
- Dimensions: 58"D x 58"W x 20"H
- Dimensions D x W x H: 58"D x 58"W x 20"H
- Weight: 58 lb
Best for: Large LP Patio Gatherings.
Why it ranks #3: The 58-inch-diameter Bella Vita suits buyers prioritizing a large gathering feature, but its LP designation makes it a fuel-fired alternative, not an electric pit.
A 58-inch stainless steel fire pit gives the Bella Vita a broad, substantial footprint for outdoor gatherings. Its LP configuration identifies the fuel type at a glance, while the modern round form makes it a focal point for seating areas where a large fire feature can fit.
At 58 inches in diameter and 20 inches high, the Bella Vita occupies considerable patio space, so measure the intended location and surrounding seating before choosing it. The real stainless steel construction supplies the specified burner material, while the LP designation distinguishes this model from the natural-gas Bella Vita versions. Its 58-pound weight is relevant when planning placement, since moving it after setup may take more effort than handling a compact tabletop unit.
- 58-inch diameter creates a large-format fire-pit footprint
- Real stainless steel burner
- LP fuel configuration is specified in the title
- Modern style
- Its 58-inch diameter and 58-pound weight make placement less convenient than a compact fire pit.
Skip it if you need a smaller footprint; the Firepit Art Bella Vita 34-inch NG model occupies less listed diameter, though it uses natural gas.
Choose this Bella Vita for a patio with room for a 58-inch LP fire pit and a preference for a stainless steel burner. Its substantial diameter and 58-pound weight make it a poor fit for cramped or frequently rearranged seating areas.

- Dimensions: 58"D x 58"W x 20"H
- Dimensions D x W x H: 58"D x 58"W x 20"H
- Weight: 58 lb
Best for: Large Natural-Gas Patio Centerpiece.
Why it ranks #4: Its 58-inch dimensions match the largest listed Bella Vita size, and the NG label identifies a natural-gas format rather than an electric fire feature.
A 58-inch diameter gives the Bella Vita NG a broad presence for outdoor gathering areas, and its natural-gas configuration separates it from the similarly sized LP version. The real stainless steel burner and modern style make its material and visual character clear.
The 58-by-58-inch footprint calls for a spacious patio layout, so allow room for the fire pit alongside the surrounding seating. Its 20-inch listed height and 58-pound weight are useful placement details when planning the setup. The natural-gas designation helps distinguish this model from the LP Bella Vita, while the product description specifies real stainless steel for the burner and a modern presentation.
- 58-inch diameter creates a large-format footprint
- Real stainless steel burner
- Natural-gas configuration is specified in the title
- Modern style
- Its 58-inch diameter and 58-pound weight require substantial placement space and handling.
Skip it if you have a smaller patio; the Firepit Art Bella Vita 34-inch NG model uses the same listed natural-gas configuration at a smaller diameter.
Pick this model for a spacious patio with a natural-gas setup and room for a 58-inch fire pit. Its large footprint and 58-pound weight are important boundaries for tight layouts or plans that require frequent repositioning.

5. Firepit Art Bella Vita 46 LP
- Dimensions: 46"D x 46"W x 20"H
- Dimensions D x W x H: 46"D x 46"W x 20"H
- Weight: 46 lb
Best for: Mid-Size LP Patio Fire Pit.
Why it ranks #5: At 46 inches across and 46 pounds, this LP-labeled Bella Vita is a smaller alternative to the 58-inch models, but it is not an electric option.
The 46-inch Bella Vita LP offers a middle footprint between the listed 34- and 58-inch models, helping buyers size a fire pit to their patio. Its stainless steel burner and LP designation provide specific material and fuel details for planning.
Measuring 46 inches in diameter and 20 inches high, this model takes less listed width than the 58-inch Bella Vita while retaining a substantial round format. Its 46-pound weight is also a practical consideration when arranging placement. The LP configuration differentiates it from the natural-gas versions, and the product description identifies a real stainless steel burner. Together, those details help buyers match the size and fuel type to their outdoor setup.
- 46-inch diameter provides a middle size in the Bella Vita range
- Real stainless steel burner
- LP fuel configuration is specified in the title
- 46-pound listed weight
- The LP configuration is not compatible with a natural-gas-only setup.
Skip it if you have a natural-gas connection rather than LP; the Firepit Art Bella Vita 46-inch NG model matches this listed diameter with a different fuel configuration.
This model suits buyers seeking a mid-size LP fire pit with a stainless steel burner for an outdoor seating area. Its 46-inch diameter still needs patio space, and the LP designation makes fuel setup a central selection boundary.

6. Firepit Art Bella Vita 34 NG
- Dimensions: 34"D x 34"W x 20"H
- Dimensions D x W x H: 34"D x 34"W x 20"H
Best for: Smaller Natural-Gas Fire Pit.
Why it ranks #6: Its 34-inch diameter is the smallest Bella Vita listed, but its NG designation makes it a natural-gas product rather than an outdoor electric fire pit.
The 34-inch Bella Vita gives the Firepit Art line its more compact listed diameter, making it a better spatial fit than the 58-inch versions for patios with less room. Its stainless steel burner and natural-gas designation identify the core material and fuel configuration.
At 34 inches across and 20 inches high, this model has a smaller listed footprint than the larger Bella Vita sizes, which can help when laying out seating around a limited patio area. The natural-gas designation distinguishes it from the LP versions, so buyers can select according to their fuel setup. The product description also identifies real stainless steel and a modern style, supporting a clean, contemporary fire-pit presentation.
- 34-inch diameter is the smallest listed Bella Vita size here
- Real stainless steel burner
- Natural-gas configuration is specified in the title
- Modern style
- Its natural-gas configuration is not the LP version, so it requires the corresponding fuel setup.
Skip it if you use LP rather than natural gas; the Firepit Art Bella Vita 46-inch LP model offers the same listed stainless steel burner material in a larger format.
This Bella Vita fits buyers with a natural-gas setup who want a 34-inch stainless steel fire pit for a more constrained patio. Confirm the available footprint and fuel configuration before selecting it; it is not the LP model.

Listed on Amazon as: Bella Vita 34" Electronic Fire Pit with Stainless Steel Burner – NG
View on AmazonAvoid the electric-versus-fuel listing trap
Check the stated fuel before treating a product titled electronic as an electric fire pit. The Bella Vita listings identify LP or NG in their titles and model details, while their descriptions refer to a real stainless steel burner. That is a different category from the electric Decksplore heater and the explicitly electric SimpliFire fireplace.
The descriptions also mention wood in some Bella Vita copy, which does not resolve the fuel-label discrepancy; confirm the exact unit and required connection with the seller before purchase. This matters because a fuel mismatch can mean ordering a product that cannot use your available setup.
The SimpliFire presents a different potential mismatch: it is weatherproof and electric, but its listing explicitly says no heat. Treat it as an outdoor flame-effect fireplace, not as a heater. These distinctions are more useful than comparing the word fire pit across titles alone.
Separate ambiance from actual outdoor heat
Do not assume that visible flames or a fire-feature title means an outdoor unit supplies heat. SimpliFire explicitly lists no heat, despite its flame and ember-bed settings; Decksplore, by contrast, is described as a heater that provides warmth during evening hours. The product data do not give a heat-output figure for Decksplore, so it is not possible to compare heating capacity or estimate how much seating area it can warm.
Its compact 13.98-by-8.11-inch footprint suggests a tabletop placement, but does not establish a safe clearance or effective heating radius. Before buying, decide whether you need warmth or visual effect, then verify the outlet, circuit, installation instructions, clearances, and exposure requirements for your specific location.
Those details are not supplied here. A weatherproof claim on SimpliFire is relevant, but it does not replace checking the installation requirements for your outdoor space.
How to Choose an Outdoor Electric Fire Feature
Heat or flame effects
Choose based on whether you need warmth, visual flames, or both. Decksplore is described as an electric heater for outdoor seating areas and includes overheat protection, but no heat-output figure is listed. SimpliFire provides four flame options and 13 ember-bed colors, yet its title explicitly says no heat.
The Bella Vita listings describe a burner but specify LP or NG, so they are not direct electric substitutes. Buyers who want a compact source of warmth should start with Decksplore; those furnishing a fireplace surround for ambiance should consider SimpliFire.
If you need both strong heat and a particular flame effect, the supplied specifications do not establish that any one product meets both needs.
Footprint and placement
Measure the intended spot and compare the stated dimensions before choosing a format. Decksplore measures 13.98 by 8.11 by 18.9 inches and is described as fitting on tabletops. SimpliFire is listed at 21.43 by 28.62 by 18.12 inches, while Bella Vita models range from 34 to 58 inches in diameter and are listed as 20 inches high.
A tabletop buyer with little floor space may prefer Decksplore; shoppers planning a larger patio centerpiece may look at the Bella Vita sizes, while recognizing their LP or NG fuel labels. SimpliFire’s product dimensions should be checked against the planned installation opening and surrounding construction; the data do not specify the required opening dimensions.
Fuel and product format
Confirm the product’s actual fuel and format before comparing it with an electric fire pit. Decksplore is listed as an electric fireplace heater and freestanding, while SimpliFire is identified as an outdoor electric fireplace with a GFCI power cord included. Bella Vita’s 58-inch options are labeled LP and NG, the 46-inch model is LP, and the 34-inch model is NG.
Buyers who specifically need electric should focus on the first two listings and verify power requirements before ordering. If you already have the appropriate gas setup and are open to a non-electric alternative, the Bella Vita diameter range offers more size choices.
Do not infer compatibility from the word electronic in a title when the model is explicitly fuel-labeled.
Which Outdoor Electric Fire Feature Should You Choose?
For a compact outdoor electric unit that is described as providing warmth, choose Decksplore Freestanding Heater: it is listed for patios, decks, balconies, and gardens and has overheat protection. For a weatherproof built-in visual feature with multiple flame and ember colors, choose SimpliFire Forum Outdoor Fireplace, keeping in mind that it does not produce heat. If you are open to a fuel-fired rather than electric pit, the Bella Vita 58 LP or Bella Vita 58 NG offers the largest listed diameter at 58 inches; choose only after confirming the fuel connection.
For a smaller Bella Vita footprint, the 46 LP model is a middle size, and the 34 NG is the smallest. The supplied data do not establish electrical requirements or installation clearances, so confirm those before purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can an outdoor electric fireplace be installed without a covered patio?
Some options may suit uncovered outdoor areas, but confirm the specific unit’s outdoor rating and installation instructions before placing it there. The Decksplore listing names patios, decks, balconies, and gardens; SimpliFire is described as weatherproof. Those descriptions do not establish every exposure or installation condition.
What electrical outlet and circuit does an outdoor electric fire feature require?
The supplied product information does not specify an outlet type, voltage, amperage, or dedicated-circuit requirement. Check the exact model’s installation manual and product label, and have a qualified electrician verify that the circuit and outdoor receptacle are appropriate before connecting an electric fire feature.
How much clearance should an electric fire feature have from furniture and walls?
No clearance measurement is provided for these products, so use the exact model’s installation instructions rather than assuming a distance. Check the specified spacing from walls, furniture, and other surrounding materials, and ask the manufacturer or a qualified installer if the guidance is unclear.
Which option offers flame effects without heat?
The SimpliFire Forum Outdoor Fireplace is described as weatherproof and as producing no heat, making it the listed choice for a visual flame feature rather than warmth. Its title also lists four flame colors and 13 ember-bed colors. Confirm its installation requirements for your outdoor space.
Are the Bella Vita fire pits electric alternatives?
No. The Bella Vita titles identify the models as LP or NG, so they are fuel-fired options rather than direct electric alternatives. Confirm the required fuel connection before choosing one.
The listed diameters are 34, 46, and 58 inches, with the 58-inch models the largest.
Final Words
For a compact outdoor option that provides warmth, choose the Decksplore Freestanding Heater; its listing names patios, decks, balconies, and gardens, and includes overheat protection. Choose the SimpliFire instead if weatherproof flame effects without heat are the priority. Treat the Bella Vita LP and NG models as fuel-fired alternatives, not electric substitutes, and verify the connection.
Before buying any option, confirm electrical requirements, installation conditions, and clearance guidance for your space.
